Mc Cormacks Are You There?

A Memory of Moodiesburn.

We Immigrated to Canada in the mid 60's but I have some great memories of Moodiesburn and Glenboig.
We lived at 73 Bridgeburn Drive and my Uncle Joe and Family lived at 77 I think!
Next door to us was Terry O'Hare he and I fought all the time. We were so little.
We played at the "Tarbit" which now I know as a paved part where the garages were. The field behind our house had bees in the clover and we caught them in jam jars. At the burn we could pick bluebells I wish I could smell them again!
My brother Paul and I went to St Michaels after St Barbaras and if we were clever we could go see "my granda" after school.
The OTHER granny and granda lived in Glenboig and I remember walking there past the playground across the big road. How we never kilt' oursels is a mystery. Those swings were so tall and the maypole a groaning monster of a thing.

I have uncles, aunts, cousins and such that I have lost over the years. Are you out there?
I've never found my Fathers side.
Joe and Jim McCormack are my fathers people. His name was Tommy and he married Sarah Hourigan from Glenboig. My husband and I are planning a trip in the fall of 2015 , the last trip home.
(I tear-up writing this) Find them for me.......
