RAF Police Training 1952
I was a young man of 18, I was stationed at RAF Netheravon for 16 weeks police training, I met some very nice people whilst I was there. I have been back to see the place once since, it is not the same as I remember. I remember driving around the perimeter of the station doing my driving lessons then on to Salisbury to take my driving test, my driving instructor at that time was a Corporal Finlason. I will visit Netheravon again at some time in the near future, hopefully to have a chat with the local people.

RE: RE: RAF Police Training 1952
I am trying to trace any living relatives of Sdn. Leader /Wing Commander Lyndon W. C. Lewis who was at Netheravon during 1950s and went onto 2nd T.A.F during 1953/4 I believe?. The reason for the tracing is we are writing a book on his earlier experience during 1944 when he was part of the crew of Bomber Command on Lancaster DS822 which was shot down on the 8th of June 1944 over the village of Le Celle Les Bordes, France. Sdn Leader Lyndon W. C. Lewis was a young bomb aimer at that time and he safely parachuted out of the aircraft along with 4 members of his crew , 3 were KIA. In 1965 he was a member of a group who visited the German Customs Criminal Institute Cologne, his title was D.A.P.M(S.I). I understand he died during 2007 aged 95 years. but where buried is unknown?. The last picture we have is in Singapore as Provost Marshal W/C Lydon Lewis and his wife Mrs LWC Lewis. I hope someone can help. Mr. Sinclair T. Ronald. Reseacher and cousin of one of the Lancaster DS822

RE: RE: RAF Police Training 1952
I am in the process of writing a book and one of the characters in it is a RAF policeman. The book is set in the early 1950s. Could anyone tell me anything about the training that the character would have gone through, the length of training and could a conscript become a RAFP within the conscription time?
