Grannie's
My memories are of my grandparents staying in their little house on Biggar Road, my sisters and I would walk down a lane which was called the Metal Raw, travellers camped there. We would keep going till we reached my aunty's prefab, other cousins' sisters would walk back and play in Masons slaughterhouse. Our aunt also had a farm on Biggar Road. Happy days. Newarthill was very small at that time, bakers and butchers came in vans to sell their wares.

Old New Stevenston And Surrounding Villages.....
Iam pleased to have found this website. I lived in New Stevenston for over 50 years and share my memories on Friends Reunited Site...after opening up a group named New Stevenston Born and Bred 50s, 60s and 70s. It also covers surrounding areas. We also hold a lot of photos from down memory lane of villages, schools and landmarks.
Great Laughs at Taylor High
Great times at Taylor High with Mick Logan, Kev Hastings and Mark O'hara etc.. I remember the time I went up on the flats (across from Taylor High) and got a big chunk of wet moss from a drain. I waited for Mick Logan to pass, then shouted his name, he looked up - then bingo! I let the moss go.. direct hit, right slap bang on the coupon, what a shot - laughed for weeks after it!! He took it in good fun though, and that's what mates do. I live in Ireland now, and I'll never forget where I came from.

Marion Adair/Anderson/Underwood
Hi there, I am looking for anyone that knew my sister, she was born Marion Adair and lived in Holytown with my gran (also Marion). My mother Mary Adair married Alex Anderson who had an ice cream van and worked all over Bellshill and Holytown area. She left Bellshill and married (in Slough) James Underwood, also from Holytown area. Any informaton regarding Marion or my family would be great. Janet
First Memories
This was the year I was born in what was then seen as Parkside because it was the top half of the village. I was born in Knownoble Street and some of my most earliest memories were of being raised in a three generation household. Then of sneaking through a neighbourghs garden to get to the swing park. Of Scott's Farm where fresh milk came from every day and of Allen's shop where Besty was not only the teacher but the one that kept it running with her Mother. Then when I was a little older I moved closer to Allen's shop on Biggar Road right handy for the bus stop for going to and from School.
