I remember the Reverend Green used to come to North Bovey School and tel us some very interesting stories of his travels in Africa and other countries where he had travelled. Does anyone remember Miss Jones and Mrs Watton? I went to North Bovey School from 1958-1964. I loved North Bovey and its school, they sure have changed, times, haven't they? Nice to see the pictures of the old church, hope to visit soon. Lindsay Baldwin

RE: RE: Reverend Green

I was looking for information about the old school in North Bovey and how and why it came close in 1965. I currently live in the village with my two children, and there has been a recent explosion of families with young ones coming to live in the village over the last year, which has really breathed life into this glorious place! I'd love to get a school up and running in the village again for our children....but it looks like the old school building is already under offer...

Just wondering whether anyone has any other memories of family and children and school in North Bovey....and whether this post might reach someone that shares a love of this place that would be keen to support a school forming here so that North Bovey becomes even more so a vibrant living community with plenty of children to play on the green....
