I moved there when I was six, to number 56, right at the end, the last house in the road.I left there in 1982 after 14 very happy years. I can still remember most of the familes who lived there at the time, I have great childhood memories.

RE: RE: Happy Days

Do you remember John West? He lived at no 29 Nepaul Road, the road used to be called Zouch Avenue. Which school did you go to?

RE: RE: Happy Days

Hallo Linda, I did not know that Nepaul Road used to be called Zouch Avenue. As a child we lived at 29 Zouch Avenue and did so from 1941 to 1948. Odd what you remember from your childhood. My father was a barrack officer during these years. The Garrison school I went to has vanished and so have most of the barracks around it. My mother would probably laugh as I read that two of the barrack blocks have become 'listed'. As she said, you had to live in a barrack block to appreciate the irony. Joan Battershill (nee Norman)
