Living in Northolt
I no longer live in Northolt. I was born in Newbury Close in which I had a happy time, there was always somthing to do on the estate. I then moved to Academy Gardens, which weren't so happy. I remember being at Islip Manor infants'; school and my welfare lady being Mrs Porter.

RE: RE: Living in Northolt
Hi, I now live in Somerset but lived in Lely House, Academy Gardens, between 1978-1993 and had some really good times. There was a true community spirit then between all the tenants in our block. It certainly has changed as the times have gone on. And I am now glad that I don't live there any more.

RE: RE: Living in Northolt
I lived in Notholt from the early 1950s until the mid 1960s, most of the time it was in Rushdene Crescent, going to school I think at Islip Manor Primary and Junior. My dad bought just about the only TV in the estate, all our friends used to come and watch it. That was in 1952 (I believe it cost about 100 pounds it had 9" screen) and when ITV came along we had a set to converter box to receive it. There were long sumer days spent in the woods with friends or playing at the sandpit, digging up spend bullets as it was an old army shooting range, or going to the ponds and catching newts or frogs. We always had a good time, even the summers seemed longer and hotter than they are now. Anyway, anyone who lived in Northolt then and remembers me, please get in touch. John Gavin, his brother Micheal, Michael Bridgman or his sisters, Brenda Cook (the fisrt girl I kissed), Micheal Rowan, or anybody who lived in Rushdene Crescent at that time.
