Nostalgic memories of Nuneaton's local history

Share your own memories of Nuneaton and read what others have said

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our web site to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was when the photographs in our archive were taken. From brief one-liners explaining a little bit more about the image depicted, to great, in-depth accounts of a childhood when things were rather different than today (and everything inbetween!). We've had many contributors recognising themselves or loved ones in our photographs.

Why not add your memory today and become part of our Memories Community to help others in the future delve back into their past.

Her name is Christine who drove a blue transit van on her deliveries to ...see more
My name was Margaret Dooley, I have never met anyone that I went to school with since I left at 15 in 1971. I lived in Coventry but went to school in Nuneaton, at the senior school. I lived in Bucks Hill while I went to the infant and junior school in Cotton Road. I used to go to school on the Bunty bus. I now live in Donegal in Ireland.
Lovely childhood memories of Valley Road in the 1950`s, lived there from 1952 till 1956. I was one of five children living with my parents; my dad worked at the Tunnel as he called it. I remember getting chased off from wandering near the slurry pit. I remember the butchers van calling round the streets and giving us kids a free 'raw' sausage that I actually ate! I also remember taking the peelings for the chickens to ...see more
