Warren Road
A Memory of Orpington.
I lived at 45 Waren road orpington with mum dad and brother tony We have very happy memories of living there moving away when i was about 15 -16. Mum and Dad(Rene & Charles ) ran the dance club for ballroom dancing and were in the Frank Spencer formation team. I attended Sidcup Technical School with my friend Frances. I now live in Berkshire, married with two sons and 5 grandchildren, but I often think back to the happy days of my childhood and the fun we used to have at the rec and climbing the oak tree at the bottom of our garden

My brother, David, and I paid a visit to Warren Road School today (02/10/15). The current head teacher was kind enough to show us round and that visit brought back lots of memories of our time there, one of which was your name.
I attended the school between 1949 and 1953 when Mr and Mrs Stevens were in charge. My last teacher was Miss Gunn and I have strong memories of her hair which was always(?) in a bun.
I also remember Annette Jones who lived on the right-hand side of the Warren Road entrance. David and John Wright who lived on the left-hand side and Leslie Gee who lived near the Cloonmore Avenue entrance.
One of my fondest memories of the school is of the gardens, where we grew vegetables, which were bounded by miniature roads where we learnt how to ride our bikes properly and be aware of the various road signs in use at that time.
I lived at 27 Oakley Gardens when I started school before moving up to 1 Daleside on the corner with Windsor Drive.
My parents moved to South Africa with my three brothers in 1965. I now live in Sussex with my wife of 51 years, and I have three sons and six grandchildren

I live now in Berkshire and have 5 grandchildren. I also posted a comment under Sidcup, as that is where I went to grammar school.
