Ice Cream

A Memory of Parkgate.

Used to often go there for a drive on a Sunday, get an ice cream and walk along the prom.

I was brought up in Heswall (Gayton) and we would often walk along the sea wall to Parkgate and stop at the Boathouse or Nicholls. I had my first ice cream at Nicholls in 1960 aged five and I have been returning ever since, even though I moved to London in 1980. The tradition has now spanned four generations of my family and will quite likely continue further, such is the beautiful constant timelessness of this place in a seemingly ever-changing world.
