Hi Dave Did you live on the Trenholme Estate like Mickey Tingey And me in the 50s & 60s? If so I remember you very well. I recently had a get together with my Brothers ,Roger and Richard and we remembered the many happy times we had there. I moved to New Romney in kent in the late 60s and then to Portsmouth 10 years ago and I,ve only been back to Penge once 25 years ago to show my son where I grew up. I wont go back again, its all changed and every ones gone.
I often wonder where everyone landed up. Ray shepherd, the Merediths, the Campbells Pete Savage, Richard Seeden and yourself . I did bump into Geoff Fleming shortly before I moved away and he was selling or delivering buses abroad but I don't remember him as living in Trenholme.
I was a bit of a rolling stone and did many things until I started a M/Cycle training school which became quite successful and I retired 10 years ago. Roger was made redundant from the Evening Standard and became a black cabbie in London. He's just retired as he's moved from Shirley to Herne Bay but still sees his old Penge friends regularly although none of them live there now. Richard you may not remember so well as he's 6 years younger than us joined the Royal Navy at 17, served for over 30 years and was in the \Falklands on HMS Fearless lives in Portsmouth too and is a keen sailor too.
Are you still in London? It would be good to hear from you. I,m on Facebook if you,d prefer to chat in privacy
Cheers

Hello Ray
Can you believe that I've only just discovered your message. Gosh, I remember you very well and your parents and brothers.
You each had Christian names beginning with R.
I live in Lincolnshire now, near the Humber Bridge thus Yorkshire is only a couple of miles away. Like you, I went back to Penge once early 80's just after I'd got back from living in the US and saw Mickey Tingey. Working as a forklift driver if I remember.
Hope I can track any response you may send to this message - it's not a great site and doesn't seem to send alerts out.
Wish you all the best.
PS I remember selling watches that Rob, your dad used to get hold of - they were rubbish :-)
Dave
