Pirbright Scrambles.

A Memory of Pirbright.

I am interested in contacting other people who remember scrambling in Purbright in the 1950`s.
I have many photos of riders and would welcome any information that other readers have.

Greetings I can remember the scrambling track circa 1956 .My earliest memories are the sound of the engines smell of the fuel. My father was a regular rider. I would be very interested in seeing your photos. I can also remember seeing lots of ordnance laying around.... health & safety was much less of an issue.
I too spent many hours - first as a spectator & then as competitor at Pirbright. It was a sad day when the powers to be stopped scrambling there - but the memories are still with me. My first 'effort' took place in the early '60s at Pirbright & I still remember my embarrassment at the ‘hash’ I made of it. First competitive bike was ex John Clayton Francis Barnett 197cc. If you do receive this, I would be pleased to share some reminiscences.
