Prefabs
I remember the prefabs. I lived at Learigg Terrace from 1948 till about 1957 when we moved to the new houses in Livingston Drive. I can also remember Mortons Farm before the new houses were built, I think it was where the shops are now. My first school was Whiterigg.

RE: RE: Prefabs
I remember the prefabs being built and one of the men working there was Mr Johnny McGowan from down Wallce Street. He was an uncle of James "Whitey" McGowan who played for Partick Thistle. Victor Street was across from Wallace Street, Stanrigg Street was the one with the hill where we would play with our sledges in the winter when we got snow and when it was frosty we would slide down it wearing (well too big in sizes) our father's tackety boots. Arden Street was a cul-de-sac, and Learigg Street being half way up the hill on the north side ran parallel to Victor Street, joining Bruce Street.

RE: RE: Prefabs
The farm, East Meadowhead, was actually across the right of way to the east of the shops.
