More about this scene

The 'Matapan' is moored at the quay to pick up passengers. This is a typical Fifties scene with the then familiar railway trucks and a car. The cyclist would have had to avoid getting his wheels stuck in the railway lines, which ran for over half a mile along West Quay Road to join the main line at Sterte Road.
