When I Was A Boy
I was born in Princes Risborough and fondly remember as a young boy going into the shop with the bay window (shown on the right of your picture) to buy sweets and giggle at the young girls. The shop was known locally as 'Blue Kettle Jacks' although it was properly known, I think, as The Old Blue Kettle.

RE: RE: When I Was A Boy
Hello,
I am trying to obtain a photo of a former resident of Princes Risborough - Sir Lindsay Scott (1892-1952), a distinguished wartime civil servant and then a very famous amateur archaeologist. All I know is that he was survived by his wife and three children. The children's names were; Neil LIndsay, Margaret Inver, and KIrsty Isobel. The photo is for use in a lecture about Sir Lindsay, in his capacity as an archaeologist. If anyone could help me to to obtain a photo, or to link me up with a descendant or relative, I would be most grateful indeed. Thank you.

RE: RE: When I Was A Boy
I was suprised to find this photo. I have been researching my family tree and the shop in the picture, The Blue Kettle, was in fact owned by my grandfather Jack Ridsdale during the 1950s. I assume he was the Jack referred to in the original comment. I would love to hear from anyone that remembers him as I know very little about him. All I know is he was married to Ethel Nind and they had 3 daughters.
