I left Reading to live in the West Midlands when this photo was taken in 1965. I believe the trolley buses were still running then. Does anyone remember the pet shop with the rabbits in their hutches outside?

RE: RE: Broad Street

I remember the pet shop very well, but not the name. The smell of the sawdust as I would walk up the steps to enter the shop. I feel sure there were cages on the left hand side as well (inside the shop) that would house puppies for sale?
The metal bars of the two cages would bend inwardly at the top. I remember as a boy, I bought a Tree-Frog from there......Mum was not impressed. The shop wouldn't take it back and in the end someone from the Museum took it 'off my hands'
