Please can anyone help? Do you remember a general shop in Hosier Street on the left-hand-side going from St Mary's Butts in the name of F W Hawkins before the civic offices were built?

RE: RE: General Store, Hosier Street
Dear Keith. I used to line in the Whitley Wood area and I was born in 1941. I went to that store with my father Francis (Frank) Bentley to buy Millet and other grains for our chickens etc. I really remember the smell in there it was dry, sweet and pleasant. The road at that time was two way and I think our car was either an Austin 7 or a Lanchester. Dion Bentley
