To my recollection one side of my Uncles family was in the name of Mr and Mrs Cook who did live in reading and had a son, I hope that this might have some sort of result that this person might stell be in Reading or surrounding area yours Anthony Whitlock (Tony )
My surname is Cook and I responded to you yesterday. It looks like there is more than the connection I alluded to then. As I mentioned I have relatively recently returned - 20 years ago to find many changes including the sad demolition of Battle Hospital just near me in the last ten years. It's now a mammoth Tesco which I'm afraid I frequent! I'm very happy to meet up and reminisce. I'm really interested in both Reading history and getting into family history though at the moment rather a novice. We're both of the same sort of age. I have three children all grown up and in frequent touch. My wife and I split a few years ago and she lives in Somerset so I'm now an old 'single parent' of 67.
