My Uncle Isaac (Ike) Wiles was lighthouse keeper for 50 years until his retirement, when it became automatic. He was there all through the 2nd World War. He has passed away and his children no longer live locally and I would like to hear from anyone who has memories of the lighthouse or my uncle.

RE: RE: Lighthouse

Hello Janet, My great-great-great-grandfather was a lighthouse keeper at Redcar too. His name was John Filburn and he lived in one of the cottages with his wife Mary and their daughters. We have some photographs of him when he was there, but my great-aunt loan others to a distant relative and he didn't return them.
