Beazer Family
Does anyone remember Elkanah and Mary Beazer and their son Horace? The family lived in Resolven. My husband is compiling his family tree, and Horace was his grandfather, he also had a brother called Preston and a sister called Violet, also we think there was another brother, but we are not sure of his name. His grandfather Horace worked in the mines for years and then married Maria Cory. Anyone who has any information, we would love to hear from you. Vivien Saunders

RE: RE: Beazer Family
Hello Vivien My name is Des Jones, I knew Horace Beazer during the war years, he was a tall fine athlete and one of the football gang (not Rugby(, he was nick named 'The Cat' because he was such an agile goalkeeper. Horace left Resolven and the mines before me, I left in January 1950. I have been to Resolven this weekend to a funeral and I've spoken to an aunt, she's 95 years old, 10 years older than me, she says she used to dance with Booty Beazer, Horace's older brother, we don't know his Christian name. She also knew Preston and sister Barbara? They lived in Company Street, Resolven and there are no Beazers in the village now. My E.mail is: john.jones1467@ntlworld.com. Good luck with your searching Des Jones

RE: RE: Beazer Family
Hi Vivien, the last Beazer to live in Resolven, I believe, was Malcolm (Company Street). I think Malcolm passed away in the mid to late 1980s. He was a nice guy who liked a pint and a gamble and never married. I should imagine he would be the son of Preston or the un-named brother or maybe he is the un-named brother. Malcolm would be about 75 years old I guess, if he was alive today. Take care.
