Growing up

My memories are of growing up at Barkinggate Farm in Roeburndale, attending Sunday school at Roeburndale chapel, and attending Wray school in the 1940s, and later on Burton-in -Lonsdale school.
I left Roeburndale in 1961.

RE: RE: Growing up

My great-great grandfather Richard Parkinson and his wife mary had a 200 acre farm in Roeburndale according to the 1851 census. They had 6 children and servants, one of the children George) married below his status and was disowned by his father. He became a butcher and then a police sergeant. This story was also told to me by my father. Does anybody have any information about my family? George was my great-grandfather.
