Sherry's Romford

A Memory of Romford.

Sherry's was a milk, ice cream and coffee bar, as you say opposite the Odeon. My father and mother were the managers there in the 60's. My dad made the best milkshakes and ice cream sundaes. Many top bands appeared at the Odeon and used the bar before and after performances. There was an autograph book which was kept by the counter. My eldest sister still has it. It is signed by many including Joe Brown, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Freddie and the Dreamers to name but a few. The cafe was one of several in the area owned by a Mr. Schneider.
