Thomas Rotherham College
I went to this school in 1983 to take my A Levels. It was then called (and still is) the Thomas Rotherham College. It is lovely to hear about other people's memories of this place from long before I arrived there! I adored my time there (albeit only 2 short years) and made some strong and lasting friendships.

RE: RE: Thomas Rotherham College
I attended this school, but way back then it was called the Thomas Rotherham Grammar school for boys. It was very nice to have such a good school, although the teachers were incredibly boring. When I got older, me and my friends would walk up the hill to watch the girls from the Girls School down the road playing football. It was a great school, and for all my years I walked up and down hills (Brunswick Hill for a few years) in the rain or shine, like many boys at the school. It's very different now, and it's quite sad to see the school again, so changed and different, and try to remember my days there.

RE: RE: Thomas Rotherham College
I attended Rotherham Grammar school in the 1960s, I hated nearly everything about the place, the musty smell, the discipline and especially the bloody strange, if not weird, teachers. They tried to run the school on public school lines. (Come on, this is Rotherham we're talking about not Eton College.) I especially remember the so-called 'Founder's Day' service at Rotherham Parish Church, so bloody boring. No, I must admit, I probably only really enjoyed two days at Rotherham Grammar, no 1 the day I left, and no 2 the next day when I realised I didn't have to go back. I can't really remember any good times or good things about this school. As for the teachers, they are probably all dead now, I know the only good one, the French master Mr Jones (Bono), is. I can never seem to find many people willing to post comments about this school. Maybe that tells you something about its popularity. Sorry my comment couldn't be a little more favourable but that is the way I feel, and felt, about the place.
