Fedsen School
Early 1950s I went to Fedsden School, I would be grateful if anyone has any photos of the school. I believe it is now a private house. Brenda Mitchell
My Dear Old House
I owned this home from 1970 'till 1978, loved it dearly and still do. Although I live in America now I always try and drive past when I'm visiting the UK. It's been kept up wonderfully through the years.

Does Anyone Have Any Memory of Mick Howard
I'm looking for Mick Howard who lived in Roydon around 1962, he knew my mother Annette Stamp, she was from Broxbourne. I am looking to contact Mick, if anyone has any information I would be grateful to hear from you.
Childhood
We moved into Roydon in 1939 as a temporary measure and stayed. I lived in Halls Green until the Parkfields estate was built in 1947. I have happy memories of our walk to school, road in winter, footpath in summer. I was notorious for tree climbing but many of those have now been felled. I was a member of St. Peter's church choir and a server until I married and moved away from the village completely. I recall laying in the field by number 9 bridge and listening to the skylarks. 30 acre field which, by season, became Wimbledon, Wembley, Lords or other sporting venues. The old green opposite our cottage at halls green was used as a bonfire site on may occasions, including VE and VJ nights and several Guy Fawkes occasions, many were the baked potatoes which were roasted on them and much fun was had by Terry John and myself, as much in the anticipation as the event. My Childhood
My partner's family lived here in this house from 1967 to 1970. He remembers playing around the very old big walnut tree in the back garden. The house looks very much the same it does now on Google Streetview.
Hansells Mead, Roydon
I was born in Hansells Mead in 1946 and was brought up their with my brother and sister. Mum and Dad, Winnie and Bill Peachment, had moved into the house when it was newly built in 1939.
We all attended Roydon School. Dad was involved with the Football Club and I was brought up on football. I remember Saturday mornings involved pumping up the ball and coating the leather with dubbin, dad also used to mark out the pitch and put up the goal nets and corner flags. Most Saturday afternoons were spent on the playing field watching the team play. It was a really good childhood. We used to go down to the Mill and use the swimming pool, ramble over the fields with no worries. I belonged to the Brownies and the Girl Guides. My sister Maureen was one of the Guide leaders together with Mrs Cheeseman.
Kingsmead School
I was at Kingsmead boarding school in the early 50s and we used to walk to this church (crocodile style) on Sundays. After church (we were usually taken out before communion), we would walk back to school where the smell of our Sunday dinner filled the air. I can still smell it. The best meal of the week. Kingsmead was later turned into offices (I think in the late 60s) but don't know what it is now.
Where my Mother Was Brought up
Many a time my family went up this road from Harlow Mill to see my stepgran and my aunts and uncles who lived in Roydon.
