Fedsden

Fedsden a large white house just outlying the nearby hamlet of Roydon.
Was it to become the nursing Hospital of the 1940's or a School in the 1950's?
Is this the same place that Ralph Fowler was born?
Any idea as to the current title and address?
A long lost family member was once 'in service'at Fedsden.

RE: RE: Fedsden

I was at school at Fedsden Hall around 1953/55. It was both a boarding and day school. I was 11-14 years old at the time. It had a large field out back where we used to play rounders, and it had a stable for horses. It also had tennis courts where we held tournaments with other schools. It had a program for exchange students, mostly from France. Wish I could tell you more than that, but it was many years ago. I don't know what it was either before or after the school.

RE: RE: Fedsden

Fedsen is now our home, and called Mount Pleasant House (its original name). We moved here in 2001. Yes, it was the birthplace of Sir Ralph Fowler. It has had many other notable occuppants throughout its hostory. It was built in 1761 by Captain John Nanfan, a mariner in the East India Company. It has also been home to the politician, Lord Rushcliffe.
