The Piazza, Regent Road
Hi everybody, I remember the Piazza shopping complex as my dad owned the butchers shop on there, Harry Hargreaves. We had some great times working there and I have great memories of the good people that lived in the area, including my mate Andrew Watt who lived on Williamson House. Also the greengrocers shop was owned by a friend of our family, he was called Dave Bowden, then there was the chemist which was owned by Clive. Not forgetting the Nat West Bank on the corner near Regent Road where the subway was that went under Regent Road and the manager was a nice fella called John armstrong. Does anybody remember Billy the window cleaner? Now it's all gone forever. What I would give to be able to go back to those days. Does anybody have any pictures of any of the shops?

RE: RE: The Piazza, Regent Road
Yes I remember the Piazza well. And the four big tower blocks of flats, Suicide Row we called them, due to a few people throwing themselves from the top. Then there was the two Brewers pub, I have seen a few fights there LOL. And the Doctors and the Dentist which I help establish in its early days. I wish I had a dollar for every tooth removed in Salford. I remember the Hairdressers and yes, my old mate Clive who owned the Chemist. And the butchers and the newsagents. From what I know now, all that has been demolished and no longer remains. Sad it's only the memories that last. If only walls could talk. Cheers, from Sunny downunder.

I remember the Piazza well. My brother Harry Hargreaves owned the butchers shop and my mum used to help out there.
