My mum and stepfather worked at Gibbs and Mews for many years, they met whilst working there and eventually married. Mum was on the bottling line, not sure what dad did, I think he was a drayman. My mum got her finger caught in the bottling machine and nearly cut the top of it off. Don't know if any one would remember them or if any one their age is still alive. My great great grandfather, Walter Churchill, worked at the Brewery for years looking after the dray horses. I do not know whether he actually went out with the horses to deliver the beer. He lived at 45 Gigant Street in Salisbury. He worked in horseracing at Marlborough when he was 13 years old. He was born in Portsmouth in 1859 and moved to Salisbury in 1881 and died in 1919. I worked in the brewrery on the keg line with Jake W, Pat B, and Andy D, I ended up running the cask beer department under Trevor G, who was a brewer. I made some very good friends in the brewery, I have been trying to contact Jake Willis but to no avail, he moved to Swansea I think, I used to rent the detatched house next to the house between the last roller shutter door and the car park.
