RE: RE: Salters Lode c1900 Painting

I also have two water colours of Denver mill and a cottage signed CA Challis dated 1900

So far I have found out the following:

1881 Census – Hunslet , West Riding, Yorkshire
Charles Augustus Challis born 1894 aged 17 year born in Leeds – pupil teacher
Father Alfred B Challis born 1830 aged 51 years born Croydon – Wheelwright Smith
Mother Elizabeth Cofte (Cook) born 1821??? aged 51 born Bridlington (her name is listed with 2 SS Challiss)
1891 Census – 121 Walkley Street, Nether Hallam, Sheffield
Charles is a Grocer
Married Ellenor Gertrude Leonard in 2nd Qtr 1887 – born in Sheffield in1867
Still living with father who is now a grocers assistant and mother at the same address
1901 – Salters Lode, Downham Market, Norfolk
Charles in now 37 his wife Ellenor is not living with him (may have died) but he still has his parents with him.
His occupation is now a School & Art Master (our paintings are dated 1900)
1911 – 8 Valley Road, Erith, Kent
Charles is now 47 and has remarried to Lucy Elizabeth Doubleday who was born in 1876 in Wiltshire
They married in Darford in the 2nd qtr of 1908 ( his name is listed as Challiss with 2 SS)
His mother Elizabeth is 81 and still living with him and it looks like his father has died
