Happy Childhood Holidays

Scarborough holds so many happy memories for me as most of my family holidays were taken there. Having a kindly aunt and uncle to stay with made it the most enjoyable place to be. I still like to visit the old haunts whenever I am able to visit the town and unlike many places, it does not seem to change for the worse.

RE: RE: Happy Childhood Holidays

Scarborough holds many delightful childhood memories for me too. I remember the thrill of the Treewalk, and many happy hours spent on the beach with our grandparents - who lived in Newby. Our bathing suits were hand sewn by my mother - and I note that in the photos we invariably had a cardigan underneath them! Donkey rides were also lots of fun, and buying a cornet of winkles for a penny. Great memories.
