Easington, the Church and Village Square c1955

Year: 1940sI lived in the square I used to live in the square in one of the houses opposite the church. My father was in the navy at Spurn Head for a couple of years during the war. I went to the local school and I think my teacher was called Miss Skelton. I remember the awfull air raids, the night before we left for our other posting to Wales there was a terrible one, we were all sleeping at the local pub and my sister and I were so scared. My other sister joined the W.A.A.F, she used to do hairdressing in our front room. I remember there was a shop in the square, we used to play near the barn.My SURNAME was NURSE.
