Living in Luss Village
We just moved to a place outside village called Yewtree Lodge. About 1yr later we moved into village to a house called Rhu House. My brother, sister & I went to Luss Primary School where our Head Teacher was called Mrs Gamble. The other teacher was Mrs Taylor, her dad owned The Highland Arts Shop in village which is now owned by her brother Duncan Taylor. My dinner lady was called Mrs Macdonald. Mrs Taylor left and along came a teacher called Mrs Nonabell. We lived in the village until 1983 when my dad lost his job on Luss Estates through ill health. This village is where I was most happy in life. I went up to visit 2004 and things for me look the same except the house I lived in has gone, it's now a hotel called The Lodge. if there is anyone out there who remembers me or my family please don't hesitate and write to me. It would be good to remember my past with some old friends. Thank you. Last edited: 09/09/2008 16:08 by Tony Mccreadie |

********NORTHFIELD ROAD************** A memory of Huntworth, Somerset Too many childhood memories to list. Too many childhood friends to list. I moved away with my family in 1960. And "WWW" has reunited so many of us in the last few years. We are all over the world now but can take a walk down "CYBER MEMORY LANE". Posted: 20/01/2008 23:39 by Irene Nelson |

Old Friends A memory of Huntworth, Somerset Hello, I have written some memories about my childhood in Renton. It's amazing how many people you meet in the world.. I loved the Renton and Bonhill, places that I remember well, and some of the people that shaped my life.. My Mom's name is Helen Gray, her name was Helen Thomson she has three brothers, Robin, Jim, Alex and a sister Marion. She might know some of the names that I've seen, I had a note from Senga McKenna, maybe you might remember my family. Anyway.. Hello to all of you in Scotland... Great Childhood A memory of Huntworth, Somerset I was born in Alexandria but lived my whole life in Renton, the last place I lived was 3 McKim Walk. I also lived at 313 Main Street. I went to Renton public school and attended first year at Vale of Leven Academy. I loved growing up in Renton and all the adventures I had with my friends Lynn Smith and Elaine McFarlane. We would go up the "Hill" and feel like we were in the wilderness away from everyone, I remember going up the Ben and running as fast as I could down the hill because out of nowhere a bunch of cows appeared. I loved the freedom we had as kids, going wherever we wanted, maybe places we shouldn't have, but we had the freedom to be "Free" which unfortunately today we can't give our own kids. I miss my old school friends but we have all grown up with the spirit of the Renton in our souls. My dad was Billy Gray and was a great football man, when we moved to Canada he kept the football spirit alive and was a great coach and became the President of Ontario Soccer Association. He passed away May 2001 and in the paper below his death announcement, we wrote the words, "All for the love of the game". Renton shaped me to be the person I am, and would love to bring my husband and daughter over from Canada and show them proudly the place of my childhood. Sincerely, Marion (Gray) Court.
