Good Time

Blackmill, the Village c1965

In 1965 Blackmill seemed such a sleepy village. The summers were warmer and drier, and we played up the mountains with our friends. We played Cowboys and Indians. We seemed to spend all our time out of doors ... in the park or making swings on trees in the woods.

Can Anyone Help?

Does anyone know the whereabouts of a Melvyn Winters, he was/is from Gilfach Goch and in the 1960s he had a relationship with Rita Sparkes resulting in a daughter.

We would love it if anyone knew of his whereabouts as his daughter Wendy would love him to get in touch!

The only other information we have is his father's name was William Winters and he had a younger sister and 3 older brothers.

If anyone has any information please email jamiedjuk@yahoo.co.uk

Once again thanks for any assistance.

white bridge

there is a white bridge in Glyn Ogwr but there was also one in Gilfach. It stretched from the bottom of the tip in Evanstown and straddled the river and came out on a path to High St,quite near to the police station. It also crossed the railway line from the Brittanic colliery
