The community

Going to G F S at the church rooms every Friday evening to practise our folk dancing ready for the Eisteddfod at Llangefni in the May. (G F S: Girls Friendly Society). We still have our standard in the church at Llangeinwen.
The drama practice at the chapel rooms every Monday evening with Mrs Roberts Gelliniog Wen.

Thank goodness for Ancestors.

To date I have not visited Llangefni. My Grandmother Ann Williams was born there, in 1869. Her Mother's name was Ellen Edwards, born Amlwych c1848. fathers name was Rowland Williams. Hopefully my Husband and I will be able to see, and spend some time in this beautiful part of Wales. My Mother was born in Merthyr Tydfil, so I am proud to say "I am Welsh too". Have a lovely day, and God Bless. Jeanette

Maelog Lake Hotel

A schoolfriend of my former wife (now sadly deceased) married a Rhosneigr man and lived in the village. In order to visit them  my wife, I and our year old daughter visited Rhosneigr first in 1971, again in 1973 and for the last time in 1977 when our son was three years old. We stayed each time at the Maelog Lake Hotel which was then run by Dennis and Elsie Clutton.  We had marvellous holidays in Rhosneigr and spent many hours on the wonderful beaches with our children.  We also spent many hours in the bar of the hotel with Dennis and some of the locals sampling some of Dennis's cocktails and, more potently, his 100% dark rum!
