On the left is the corner of Lloyds Bank; then comes Siddal and Kirby's shoe shop, the Wool Shop, now Nationwide with a new shop front, and the Midland Bank.
This view shows one of Salter's pleaseure steamers, the 'Henley', having just passed through Burford Bridge heading upstream towards Oxford.

Heading north-east we come to Wisbech St Mary, which is built alongside the New River, which takes the water of the Nene to the huge pumping station at Denver Sluice.
The Mumbles-Swansea train in the centre of the photograph is heading for or leaving the Elms Terminus.
By the time of this photograph, the river was being used more and more for pleasure: streamlined boats are moored by the bank, and a canoe with its lone occupant is heading towards Lendal Bridge
This is Loves Lane leading off the Main Street and heading for Horn Mill.
