You are here:
Wood Family of Cowick And Snaith.
My paternal line goes back to (definitely) Joseph Wood b. 1751 at Cowick near Snaith but there have been Wood's in Cowick back to the 16th century. Joseph married Hannah Mapplebeck of Heck at Snaith in 1782.

RE: RE: Wood Family of Cowick And Snaith.
My Wood family originated in Cowick but as it was only a hamlet (did not have a church ) at that time most of them were bmd in Snaith. I went there a few years ago and was told there are still Wood relatives living around but unfortunately did not meet any. Try censuses to see who was there. I am afraid I do not recognise the name Huby. Olga

RE: RE: Wood Family of Cowick And Snaith.
Just been browsing and came across this site, my grandmother's name was Wood before she married Fred Huby, I believe she came from the Snaith area and had a sister in Snaith although I only knew my grandmother living in Whitley Bridge. If you have any history about the Wood familey I would love to read it as my gran passd away a good few years ago, and my parents have little knowledge of her life prior to her marrage to my grandfather. Thanks.
