Motor Boats

I loved these little motor boats, I can still remember the smell of the exhaust fumes and hear their engines. The late 50's/early 60's were great in Southend, until the developers came! Anyone have any memories of St Erkenwalds?

RE: RE: Motor Boats

Does anyone remember 'The White Heather'? It was a 21ft sailing boat that uses to come up on West Beach and for 1/6 would take you for a trip over to Sheerness. My grandfather Clark owned this and I spend many childhood summers travelling with him. I remember him being on a guide for Southend and being on postcards but can find no pictures, sadly. I have recently heard his brothers also owned other boats, 'The Joyce' and 'The Ladybird', if anyone has any memories it would be lovely to hear them.
