The Castle School For Boys
I was in Castle School from 1961 to 1964. It was good at times and also bad. Mr Bowls was the head, and didn't we know it. I had the walking stick on many a Friday morning after assembly. I cannot remember any names from people there. 12 months after leaving I went in the Merchant Navy on the catering side, but had a car crash in 1969 which ended my career. It must have all changed now, being flats and all.

RE: RE: The Castle School For Boys
Hi all Castle School addicts, ha ha. I remember the Castle from hell all too well and a few of the animals they called master and the biggest animal old Bowles himself, and he wasn't the only one good with the walking stick and his hands, as also was Maddison Stewart of Bewdley House and Softley House respctively. I was by the way in Crawley House, Mr Mctavish was then the house master and a twat called Thomas was the house captain. This was 1961 to 1964 by the way. Like you say, the best times was the camping in Whitby and the home leave, not forgetting the films on Saturday nights in the assembly hall. Dont forget the so the awful marching we had to do everywhere, we went on walks or to church on a Sunday morning. I still remember the polishing of the shoes every night and getting hit around the head with them if they weren't clean and having to run across the courtyard to retrieve them. I could go on forever but I am probably starting to bore you now. A special message to my good buddy in them days George (Marchie) March. See you unlucky lot. And all my good wishes to you all.
