School on The Hill
I have great memories of going to Sunday lunches to this lady's house. I do not remember her name but we had best china and tiger rugs (with the heads on). I was a pupil at St Mary's Convent on the outskirts of town, is it still there? My maiden name was Dalton.

RE: RE: School on The Hill
Hello, I was wondering if you, or anyone you know, remembers the Reader family. My grandfather's name was Percy Reader and he came from a large family from Marden. I know there are two commemorative plates in the church for two great-uncles who died in the First World War in France. Just wondered if there were still members of my grandfather's family around? Kindest regards, Jan Groom.

St Mary's school was an all girls school. sorry I can't help you with your relative, the woman I used to visit lived by herself. Her husband was away somewhere. I was very young and I used to visit once a month. She was very proper and taught me a lot about afternoon tea.A re there any students out there? The girls were not local, the courts put them there. I remenber one girl named Grace and she had bright red (carrot) hair. She was somewhat my mentor. She would be about 60 now.
