Family Connections to Steep Going Back to 1708

Having researched my family history I was expecting that most of my family were from Bepton and Midhurst, however whilst several family members were laid to rest in Bepton churchyard, I have found that in fact we have long standing family links with Steep from the 1920s going back to Abraham PIERSON in 1708. Virtually all our family have been PIERSONS though some married local girls so there are of course links to other families. Dan PIERSON married in 1913 and then joined HMS Bulwark when the First World War broke out. It seems that in 1914 whilst loading ammunition at Sheerness in Kent the whole ship exploded and there was a terrible loss of life. I am keen to find out more about Steep, where the streets and houses were and of course the PIERSON family who have been there for more than 200 years. If anybody has any old photos of the village in Victorian times or perhaps knew somebody called Pierson I would be very glad to hear from them. Please email me, Wayne Russell at wrus100@gmail.com Many thanks
