RE: RE: Upper Chorlton Road

The SEYMOUR PUB...what a grand pub. The vault was in the cellar and every Saturday dinner time it was full, all good chaps... Sadly it was demolished and a load of flats are there now. It had a history....seems a thief was seen by the local bobby trying to break into the pub....he went to arrest him and the thief pulled a pistol and fired some shots at the bobby killing him...one of the shots hit the brickwork and made a hole. We always looked at the brick, it was painted a light blue. Anyway when it was demolished they tried to find the brick..to no avail...why !!..I haven't a clue. The policeman bit is true...about the brick....who knows. Good memories of that pub.
