I saw your Memory Comment on the Frith Site as it was beneath one I had made previously about Horrabridge. My father 'Jinks' Fitzsimmons remembers working with you at Plasterdown Camp. He and Mum still live in Horrabridge and so do 5 of their 7 children. Barney is still in the village but unfortunately Podger died about a year or so ago. Mum and Dad celebrated their Golden Wedding recently and were visited by friends and family as we held an open house day. Barney was one of their many visitors. We often reminisce about the 'Old Days' and the things we all used to do and remember.

Hi Sharon,
What a wonderful memory, I remember "Jinks" very well and also Barney, sorry to hear about Podger, I find it difficult to remember names although I a fairly good at places, I am writing a book about my military career 1944 - 1966, so I will get around to Plasterdown and try to remember that period, I can be reached at tiddles82@googlemail.com.

RE: RE: Military
I am researching the history of Sussex Army Cadet Force and I note that in 1962 their annual camp was held at Plasterdown camp. I have recently visited the location and the camp has completely vanished. Is there a history of the camp? When did the camp close? Are there any more pictures apart from the one featured?
Grateful for any info that anyone may have.
