Memories of Egypt

Howard Norfolk Married Hilda Bobbie Allen in 1944

Although I have never seen Cairo I have a huge number of photographs taken around 1944 as my father served there with the Royal Fusiliers during the second world war and met and married my mother who was in the Womens Royal Air Force - their wedding was in Heliopolis on 23rd December 1944.

I still have their photograph albums and their military papers from their service in the Middle East and have heard them talk about their times there. Sadly both my parents have now died but I feel I know a lot about the area and hope to visit both Cairo and the Holy Land myself.
