Happy Days in Thorne Park
Happy days in the paddling pool and on the swings, the old parkie taking your name for riding your bike in the park, what did he do with all the names? Remembrance Day in the park in 1963 as a cub, Mr Metcalf leading us. Church services in the little chapel, now a wood yard. Spring is coming, you can tell just looking at the large rookery in the park. Summer's here - listen to the band. Fond childhood memorys. P.S DON'T touch the Kenyons pump.

RE: RE: Happy Days in Thorne Park
My sister is the girl in the flowered costume in the forground, we were called Sylvester and lived at 8 Wyke Gate Grove before moving to Kirk Sandall in 1967. The day this picture was taken my cousin cut her foot on the steps of the pool. My mother has another photo taken on the same day which is of a different angle. I still have relatives living in Thorne and their name is Hall. My cousin Kath is also writing a piece as we are on the phone while we are doing this note, hope anyone we knew is reading this and it is bringing back all the happy memories of the old times.
