Childhood Walk

This could be my mother and me! I was 5 in 1951 and remember visiting the pond to 'feed the ducks'. The common became a wonderful playground durig my childhood, everything from 'the wild west' to 'army battlefields'. It was safe, we would spend all day playing without fears or worries. The important thing was to avoid the 'Parkie' (Park Keeper), what a memorable age.

RE: RE: Childhood Walk

Hi Martin What memories. I lived in Balham during the 1960 and went to the Holy Ghost School and the Holy Family in Tooting which was run by nuns. We came back to Malta in 1969. Our outing used to be going to Clapham Common. I visited it recently with my own family, showing them where I lived, Tantallon Road in Balham. I would love to come back to visit again as I never have enough of those wonderful memories. Jennifer
