TREBANOG

My grandparents, Henry and Ida Gladys Ward, came to Trebanog with their two daughters during the recession in the late 1920s to work in the mines.

He had a brother, William, who worked as a butcher in Porth.

I was hoping if someone remembers the time they spent there.

RE: TREBANOG

Hi, I lived in Cymmer for 28 years and can remember Mr Ward the butcher. He ran the butchers shop in Station Street, Porth for many years. I used to go into his shop as a small boy with my mother. There was sawdust on the floor which was changed every day. When he retired he was succeeded by Mog Davies .
