Many A Happy Time In Trethomas

A Memory of Trethomas.

I don't know how I arrived at this website but I found it amazing that what I found awakes so many memories about Trethomas. My gran lived at 13 Bryn-y-fran Avenue, together with my uncles Ron and Trevor Evans. I lived in Llandrindod Wells but spent most of my School holidays with my parents at Gran's house in Trethomas. The name Wedlock meant something to me, was the daughter Joan married to Ron White who was the son of Florence White who was the elder sister of Ron and Trevor and did they live in Bryn-y-fran Ave? They had a daughter called Elizabeth.
I remember going to the Rec to the left hand side of the Workmens Hall (the cinema) and being knocked out on one of the swings. My Uncle Ron was a good snooker player and at one time was the steward of the snooker hall that was under the Workmens Hall and as a 10'ish year old I learned the basics of the game - the start of a misspent youth!
I used to get confused with Trevor Evans as one Trevor was a coal miner and a well known Bedwas rugby player and he was my mothers brother the other Trevor Evans was a pharmacist and was my father's (Neville Evans) brother.
The name Arthur Mallet also rang a bell, I remember a Christmas lunchtime drink at Bedwas Rugby Club with Arthur Mallet leading the singing of a song called 'Sylvest' I even remember some of the words.
I have so many great memories of Trethomas that I could share but don't want to bore you as readers unless you want me to!!
