Twechar
I left Twechar for good, or bad, in 1973, and although I was happy to get out and see a bit of the world, I still remember so much about my time there.
I recall, being about 5 and kneeling on a couch and looking out the window towards the Campsies it always seemed to be raining. Yet thinking of that time still gives me peace of mind. Also summers spent up in the woods or in the glen, we could go all day on a couple of brunt spuds. I am glad to have come from Twechar, and hope everyone there is well and happy. I live far away now in a crowded hectic city, and even though I wouldn't live anywhere else, I still miss the beautiful quiet countryside around Twechar.

RE: RE: Twechar
Good day to all, this is more an enquiry than a comment. It seems my father - Murdo Munro - lived in Twechar with his parents Alexander and Mary Munro from 1886 - 1900. His dad was a stone-mason who died at Dombarton in 1900. I do not know what their address was but I would be interested in finding what school he attended. Also were there orpganages then? As his first mother died when he was 2 and Mary was his stepmother. My dad for that time was well schooled. Where would he have gotten his education?a Also gr.father's death was witnessed by Malcolm Munro his nephew from 54 Bar Hill Row, are any of those Munros still about? If anyone can give me any kind of an answer or even cares to say hello, please do so. Thankyou, Don Munro, Wnnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
