More about this scene

This view looks west along Church Street. The building on the left was the old grammar school, and is now a solicitor's office. The building with the bellcote beyond, now St John's Ambulance Brigade, was built in about 1910 and has recently been shortened, thus exposing more of the gable of No 11 beyond. The barber's shop on the right is still a hairdressers. Church Street is one of the best surviving streets in the town architecturally. Sussex Towns From Chichester to Uckfield
