Beyond the playing field, we can see some of the Kingswood neighbourhood's dormy-style houses. These were the first 'quality' private homes to be built in the new Basildon. The two Woodlands Schools were combined in 1978.

i was one of the first pupils to enter woodlands .i had moved to basildon in 1955 from ilford .went to swan mead, then manor,then at woodlands till leaving at 15yrs old
