Much of St Mary's church, behind the mill, was used as a private house after the Dissolution; the ivy-covered remains of part of it can be seen here, attached to the right of the church. It was finally restored as a church in the mid 1600s.

Bromfield is and always will be my home. I grew up there from 1964, went to Bromfield Primary school from 1969 and my parents still live there. I cant think of a better place to have grown up Roger Tomkins
I used to live up the Station Road, No. 3 Broome Close, about 150yds past the post office on the left. Lord Plymouth estates built 2 new houses in the early 60's, we moved from the stable flats in Oakley Park and Mr & Mrs Price moved into No. 4; he was the estate's carpenter.
