Prefabs

A Memory of Upper Boat.

I lived at 67a Crwys Crescent until 16 years old. Our prefab was directly opposite the farm gate and my brother, Peter Davies, and Diana Davies, spent many days playing in the stream. I remember others who also lived in the upper circle. Gloria Sims, Maureen Stag, Wendy Webb, Brian Israel, June Brassington, Richard Horn, Brinley Griffiths to mention a few. I wish it was still there. I would love to see photos of it as it was.

I am Tony Fordham I was born and lived at 72 Crwys Crescent with my Mother and Father and sister Irene and brother Eric from my birth in 1944 until 1956 when we moved to Leeds. I went to school at Hawthorn.
I am looking for any information and pictures about the time I lived there.
I also remember Uncle Jack and used to visit him at his house which has been said by someone else on this site had no electricity. He was a great and interesting man.
I also knew Maureen Stagg and David Stagg who lived next door to us as well as June Brassington, Brinley Griffiths, Richard Horn and Wendy Webb.
I used to love the community fun days I think they were called Carnivals.
Look forward to hearing from anybody who lived at Crwys Crescent around the time I lived there.
Regards Tony

Hi, I'm the Maureen Stagg who lived next door to you Tony at 72a, with my brother David, I remember all of your family. I remember all of the people you named, I can add another the Pardow family and the Bridges who lived the other side of us and who we shared an air shelter with. We lived next door to you with our dog Heidi. Yes, I too went to Hawthorn, if I remember we had to walk most of the way. We moved to London when I was about 11 or 12. We all had the run of a field opposite the prefabs (which were absolutely freezing in the winter, ice on the inside) and further over trees and fields. I think my father lived and died in his garage across the road.
Fantastic freedom days at Crwys Crescent.
Best wishes,
Maureen
